Making a belly cast is very easy and fun.  It is a creative way to make a memory of your pregnancy last forever. You will need a friend to help.  Casts are made a month before birth.
Supplies
Petroleum jelly
3-4 rolls plaster casting material
Acrylic paint
Bowl of warm water

Preparation
Begin by protecting your work area with newspaper.  You can either sit in a chair or stand. If you choose to stand the belly will look more slender but be prepared to stand for around 20 minutes. Cut the plaster roll into strips 12 to 18 inches in length. Also, cut 4 squares, 3 inches long, to cover the breasts. Spread a layer of petroleum jelly all over the areas  If you choose to wear underwear protect the surface with plastic wrap.  Dip each plaster strip one at a time in warm water and then place them across the area.  Cover every area of the cast with a minimum of two layers of casting material.  The plaster will immediately begin to dry and peel off when ready usually in 10 minutes.  Allow the cast to dry for at least 24 hours before painting.
